TH loves anything fried in oil.I spiced up last Sunday with some home made plantain chips.
Ingredients:
Raw plantains- 2 ( preferably the lenghtier ones)
Turmeric powder- 1 tea spoon
Hing- a pinch
Chilli powder- 1 tea spoon
Pepper powder- 1 tea spoon
Oil- for frying
Method:
1.Peel the skin and slice the plantain in thin round shape.
2.In a large vessel, spread the slicd plantain, sprinkle turmeric powder and mix thoroughly.
3.Leave the plantains fofr 15 minutes to absorb the turmeric powder.
4.Heat oil in a kadai and when hot enough, fry the sliced plantains
5.Once the frying is done, spinkle salt, hing, chilli powder and pepper powder and mix well. For best results, put them in a container and just shake till everything gets mixed.
6.Store in a air tight container.
Hadn’t them before…..how did the plantain taste? Are they like potatoes or yam?
Angie, trust me, except the task of slicing them even and round and frying them all, it is worth it.Its different from yam/ potato.Try it out.Preferably buy the long plantains.

I’m sorry, but I am not too sure what Plaintain is. It’s a kind of banana right? If so, than I love this kind of chips very much. A big bowl of it, infront of the television means nothing! Now you see it, now you don’t! Hahaha…
